Indonesian Confrontation: Threats from Armed Subversives

Before Singapore joined Malaysia in 1963, the Indonesian Government had opposed the formation of Malaysia. It exploited the racial tensions in Singapore and infiltrated saboteurs into the country after the formation of Malaysia to undertake acts of sabotage with the support of disaffected locals. The saboteurs' objective was the destruction of vital installations in Singapore. However, given their inaccessibility to these installations which were heavily guarded, they were instead instructed to explode bombs indiscriminately to create public alarm and panic as well as lower public morale. On 10 March 1965, there was a bomb explosion at the MacDonald House along Orchard Road. The most serious of the bombings by the saboteurs, the blast killed two Chinese and one Malay and injured at least 33 people. Special Branch officers and Police tracked down and arrested the Indonesian commandos, Harun Said and Osman Hj Mohd Ali, who were members of the Korps Komando Operasi. The two Indonesian commandos were convicted and executed for the MacDonald House bomb blast.

Special Branch officers collected critical intelligence and managed to round up other Indonesian infiltrators, smashing many small terrorist squads and local underground movements.

This weekend was designated to allow me to be try-to-be-good boy. However, as you would have already guessed, it didn't work out. My parents told they would be going to Malaysia today and my efforts for the self-imposed grounding had gone down the drain.

I was pretty free despite the studying that I should have done. Boredom drove me out of the house and I actually wanted to travel to Marina Sq just to redeem my free ice cream. Thank God I received yl's msg. Thank God... that led me into doing something even more dangerously idle...

Btw I just realised the difficulty in trying to find good eng word to replace Bo liao.... Hmmm...
Or is it because my english is bad?

Technical Analysis vs Fundamental Analysis

What's your take on this?

I feel that one should never place all his egg into one basket and gamble it away using only 1 kind of analysis. This may make me look like puss but there is reason why there are 2 schools rather than 1. Fundamentally, a company which has good prospects may not be one that is worth speculating but it's one which you can stash your retirement money in. Technically, a company with poor prospects may present you the best opportunity to strike the jackpot. It all comes back to the same old questions. How much risk are you willing to take? And, perhaps, how stupid you can become.

This is the first entry since eons.

Fortunately, I have chosen the module so life isn't that bad as compared other people. In fact, this feels much better than a holiday because there is a good blend of work and rest. The work's simple and the rest's rejuvenating. What more can I ask for?

I will have my first test in 2 years tomorrow if you don't count the army ones. It's gonna be a 10 question MCQ which will take 10-20min accordingly to LEE. LEE's my lecturer by the way. Sometimes I wonder how long I can sustain my mugging? Is it just part of the process of rediscovering studying which in any case is going to fade away in no time? Have I reached peak? I certainly hope not. Cheers to mugging guys.
